High Performance (All-Stars)

June 25, 2012 - All-Star Update

The NCYRA Boys and Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity (JV) All-Star Teams recently returned from their Summer Tours.  The Girls Varsity and JV Team travelled to Meridian, Idaho, and competed in the Great Northwest Challenge.  The Varsity Team took the Championship Trophy by going 4 - 0, and the JV Team finished strong with a 3 - 1 record.

The Boys Varsity and JV Team returned last Friday from their five day tour of British Columbia, Canada, where they played the British Columbia (BC) Provincial All-Star Teams.  The JV Team handily defeated their smaller competition in two matches in Vancouver and Victoria, while the Varsity Team narrowly lost their first match to the U-17 Team by a score of 34 - 36.  The Varsity Team came back with some strong determination and some outstanding team play and won their second match in Victoria by a score of 46 - 36.  The plan is that this will become an annual event with British Columbia, who are looking for strong competition, and the start of the Northern California / British Columbia (NC/BC) Cup Challenge.  BC will bring their combined U-17 Provincial Team to San Francisco for a match on July 27, and then follow-up by competing in the NCYRA Summer Sevens Championship Tournament on July 29th in Dixon.
